HR Lehn Educational Consulting will be making college-sponsored visits to tour a group of highly regarded colleges and universities in Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania in March, 2015. These include Lehigh University, Lafayette, DeSales University, Cedar Crest, Moravian and Muhlenberg. They are located in eastern Pennsylvania on the northern central border of New Jersey, less than two hours from New York City and just over an hour from Philadelphia.

These colleges are all suburban campuses ranging in size from 1,300 undergraduate students only to 6,000 plus graduate students, with admit rates from 35% to over 75% . They represent a range of academic strengths from Business, to Engineering, to Pre-professional studies and Health Sciences, to Visual and Performing Arts.Lehigh ImageA fantastic bonus to students who attend these colleges, each belongs to the Lehigh Valley Association of Independent Colleges. This consortium allows students to cross-register for classes on the other campuses, and benefit from all that thoe others have to offer in terms of student life.

NCAA Division I Patriot League Lehigh and Lafayette draw competitive athletes offering athletics scholarships, while Moravian runs a highly competitive DIII program among the other DIII colleges. All are co-educational with the exception of Cedar Crest, the small women’s college in Allentown. The student atmosphere is more laid back and down-to-earth at some, drawing a more regional population, while others have a more “up-scale” feel, and draw from a broader swath of states and countries. There is potentially a home for every type of student at one of these campuses.
